TAKE A DEEP BREATH

Today's ensemble was inspired by the color black... ... ... just kidding, it always ends up that way. As today is a Monday and I always have Mondays off from work, I decided to pump around Manhattan for a little bit of browsing (and shopping - more on that tomorrow). So naturally I had to wear something a little bit more dramatic. Our building has an amazing roof, although I'm hesitant to go up there due to my loud boots and the families living below, but Cameron & I couldn't help but utilize the rooftop for some shots with the setting sun. This is another amazing piece from Babooshka Boutique. Two months ago, I posted about harem leggings and turban headbands from the same designer - today's post is about the geometric quilted "leather look" cardigan. Its perfectly mid-weight for the confused New York weather at the moment, plus adds a certain degree of effortless drama to any ensemble. Its geometric quality reminds me of one of my favorite collections by Comme Des Garcons from SS09, where one look after another featured hexagonal construction - shapes applied to garments. My favorite!
