Whenever I answer interviews, there is one question that seems to always appear: "Who is your fashion icon/inspiration"? And while I've never felt the need to emulate or imitate any one individual (celebrity or not), I can honestly say that I would not dress the way I do today without the influence of my incredibly stylish, daring, and fabulous mom! Although she never dictated how I dressed (quite the opposite - I went through several 'awkward' clothing phases and she loved me all the same), I tend to think that I must have absorbed certain fashion philosophies of hers over time.
Even though she doesn't live in New York, her work allows her to visit fairly often. So about once every other month we go on little 'dates' - last night we went to Pegu Club, where I discovered the "Clover Club" cocktail (gin, muddled raspberries, lemon juice, house-made grenadine, raw egg whites) among others, and consumed the most delicious mini scallop slider burger...and after we had drank to our limit, we parted ways.

En route back to Brooklyn, I stopped by Eastern Bloc where Michael Magnan was guest DJing. He has temporarily kidnapped one of my harness samples...but I don't mind.
