LAST NIGHT I WENT TO A GWAR ART SHOW

What do you do when a coworker forwards you a flyer for a GWAR art show? You drop all of your other plans and go go go!!

The majority of the show was small paintings and prints, neatly arranged in a small gallery. When I first walked in, I thought that the space was slightly over-hygienic and a strange match for the band in the spotlight. But the later it got, the longer the metal hair in the crowd. And once the "musical" acts started to play, the entire vibe changed. Opening up was a GWAR spin-off performer named "Chippy the Chipopotomus" (see photos below) followed by Dethrace. Certainly not a typical Saturday night, but the show yielded much more than I could have ever anticipated, and I left with the reaffirmation that spike headbands really are a good thing.

The spiked headpieces are really on trend, no?

This was my favorite painting. Crawling fleshface and spike headband!

Later we had beer & whiskey shots accompanied by popcorn.
